Admissions Process.

Thank you for your interest in enrolling your child at First Baptist School of Laurel. Our mission is to see students come to know Jesus as their personal Savior and Lord and to build Christian character in those who already know Him. In partnership with parents and the local church, we immerse our students in a rigorous, Christ-centered education devoted to spiritual growth and academic excellence, and equip them to impact the world for Him. 1 – Tour

2 – Apply

All registrations and reenrollments are to be completed and submitted through RenWeb. This process should cover all necessary aspects of admission and enrollment – from basic family information through getting your FACTS account set up.  It is recommended that parents have all necessary forms and documents available when they begin the application process so as to prevent any delays due to missing forms.

3 – Assessment

Parents of new applicants (Grades K-8) will be called to set up an appointment for the student’s academic assessment. The main purpose for this screening is to find out what basic skills the child has been taught and what they know up to this point. This helps the teachers know where each of their students stand at the beginning of the school year.

4 – Reviewing Documents

Parents of new applicants will be called to review all enrollment information. While we understand that doctor’s offices and other schools can be busy, we ask that parents turn in all necessary forms as soon as possible.

5 – Notification

Once you have completed the enrollment process, we will inform you if there are any changes that need to be made. Once we calculate the total tuition calculations for any students under your account, the charges will be added to the family’s FACTS account and it will be finalized. You should receive a notification from FACTS informing you that your account has been completely set up and that you can view the payment plan details.

6 – You are Finished!

Once the school office has documentation that all of the required forms have been submitted and the registration fee has been paid, the registration process is complete!.

Please note that students are not considered enrolled until both the application forms have been submitted and the registration fee has been received by the school office.


Tuition for FBSL is an annual fee that may be paid in one lump sum payment or in monthly installments under one of our payment plans. Registration for the 2018-2019 school year is on a first come first serve basis and begins February 5, 2018 and will continue until classes are full. Early registration fees must be paid by March 15th to qualify for the early registration discount of $100 (application alone does not qualify for early registration).

Tuition invoices are posted to a monthly statement which is available through FACTS, our tuition management system. All families are required to participate in FACTS.

Please note that tuition includes books, processing, etc. Our 2018-2019 fees are the $350 annual non-refundable registration fee, the $45 FACTS enrollment fee, $50 technology fee, and the $50 graduation fee (Kindergarten and 8th Grade only). Family service hours fees may apply.

Early Registration:

$250.00 (or $100 off), application alone does not qualify for early registration; registration fee(s) must be paid by the March 15th deadline to qualify for early registration discount.

Lump Sum:

In order to receive the lump sum discount of 10%, the lump sum payment must be received in the school office on or before August 15.


2 children: 5% discount off of each child’s tuition (excluding Before and Aftercare) after any other discounts

3 or more children: 10% discount off of each child’s tuition (excluding Before and Aftercare) after any other discounts


10% off one student’s tuition for each eligible referred family

At FBSL, we give a 10% discount to all of our families that refer another family to our school. In order to receive this discount, the referring parent must already have their child(ren) registered for the next school year. Additionally, the referred parent must already have their child registered (i.e. registration forms turned in and registration fee paid) and have already paid the first month’s tuition in order for the referring parent to receive the discount. The maximum discount cannot exceed tuition balance.

In order to receive this discount, both the referring and referred parent must sign the referral discount form. This form can be found in the Newsletters section of RenWeb.

  • The Broadening Options and Opportunities for Students Today (BOOST) Scholarship Program has been funded for the 2017-2018 School Year.  Income-eligible families should apply to our school first, then register for the 2017-2018 BOOST scholarship program.  Please visit for more information.  The State of MD expects BOOST on-line application deadline is June 15, 2017.

Additional Fees

Graduation Fee

$50 (Kindergarten 5 and 8th grade only)

This fee is due through FACTS with the last payment plan payment on May 15.

Technology Fee

$50 fee for all students from Pre-K to 8th Grade.

This fee is due through FACTS with the first payment plan payment.

Family Service Hours

First Baptist School of Laurel’s everyday operations depend on the active involvement of all its families. For the 2016-2017 school year, each family must provide a minimum of twelve (12) hours of volunteer service to the school per school year. This service can come in the form of chaperoning field trips, assisting in school sponsored events (i.e. Open Houses,  book fairs, etc) or providing classroom support.

We understand parents may be unable to fulfill their volunteer commitment. In these instances, a $100 fee will be assessed after the last day of school in lieu of the 12-hour service commitment. This is not intended to dissuade parent involvement, but is simply an alternative to completing the family service hour requirement. The fees collected will support the scholarship fund FBSL has begun working toward.
