Before and After School Care Program
As an additional service for families whose schedule requires it, First Baptist School operates a before and after school care program for preschool, elementary, and middle school students.
Before school care begins at 6:30 AM and runs until school begins. After school care begins at 3:00 PM, when school dismisses, and operates until 6:00 PM. It operates during the entire school year, including the weeks of Christmas Break and Easter Break. On days when school dismisses early, after school care opens at noon and remains open until 6:00 PM. When school is closed for holidays or inclement weather, before and after school care is also closed. A schedule of closings for before and after school care is provided for families at the beginning of each school year.
Only students who are currently enrolled in First Baptist School are eligible to attend before and after school care. Families who enroll in before and after school care have an additional weekly fee depending upon which programs they elect for their child to participate in, either before school care, after school care, or both. The same discounts that apply to school tuition also apply to the weekly fee for before and after school care.
Enrollment in before and after school care is intended for an entire school year (40 weeks) and should be renewed from year to year, just as with school enrollment. Charges are not pro-rated for time missed during the week due to illness or inclement weather closings. Part-week attendance is possible as space permits in the program and the cost is then pro-rated.
Families are given 2 weeks of “vacation” during the 40 week school year where payment is not due and when their child is not in attendance at before and after school care. Many families use these weeks during Christmas and Easter break, however a family may choose when to use its vacation weeks at its own discretion.
It is the hope that by providing this service, working families can be assured that in their absence, their children are well cared for and supervised by loving, Christian adults.
